What is Aquaponics? Aquaponics is the cultivation of fish and plants together in a constructed, recirculating ecosystem utilizing natural bacterial cycles to convert fish waste to plant nutrients. This is an environmentally friendly, natural food-growing method that harnesses the best attributes of aquaculture and hydroponics without the need to discard any water or filtrate or add chemical fertilizers. Another warm day in the Ozarks, 69 today. We have had a strong SW wind all day, gusting over 30mph. I spent the early part of the day cutting wood. Some for the house and front greenhouse, and the beginnings of the pile that will be needed for the back. The greenhouse is all closed in now, I finished the east wall tonight. Tomorrow I will work on getting the primary wood stove hooked up and going. Once that is done, I can actually begin building the AP system.
