What is Aquaponics? Aquaponics is the cultivation of fish and plants together in a constructed, recirculating ecosystem utilizing natural bacterial cycles to convert fish waste to plant nutrients. This is an environmentally friendly, natural food-growing method that harnesses the best attributes of aquaculture and hydroponics without the need to discard any water or filtrate or add chemical fertilizers. It is time to update. I now have 5 tanks up and running very nicely. The plants in the growbeds are doing great. The grow tube that was added to tank #2 has really impressed me. So much so, that we will be working on adding 7 or 8 more tomorrow night. I'm not sure what we will plant in them, but I know they will be full as soon as they are completed. The framework for the duckweed tanks is in place. I will get the starter crop ordered this week.
